Tuesday, April 9, 2002 REGION OHIO The Lima News OBITUARIES Pandora Leipsic Lima Lima Cridersville Waynesfield HAROLD J. "BOB" TUT90, died at 3:46 a.m. April 8,2002, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1912, in Hardin County to Curtis and Margaret McGinnis Tuttle, who preceded him in death.

On July 5, 1932, he married Thelma L. Dunson, who died April 6, 1994. Mr. Tuttle retired as farmer after more than 50 years and from Ohio Lima, after 30 years. Survivors include three sons, Michael (Kathy) Tuttle of Orlando, and Roger (Joyce) Tuttle and Gary Joe Tuttle, both of Waynesfield; a daughter, Joyce (Glen) Valenti of Waynesfield; a sister, Gladys Edgington of Lima; and seven grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Delbert Tuttle; two sisters, Opal Dotson and Pauline Hefner; a granddaughter, Karly; and two great-granddaughters, Kendra and Molly. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Armentrout Funeral Home, Waynesfield. The Rev. Don Smith will officiate.

Burial will be in McDonald Fairview Cemetery, near Jumbo. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Arcadia NICHOLAS M. "NICK" TAYLOR, 31, died the morning of April 7, 2002, at his residence.

NOTABLE DEATH NEW YORK (AP) Raven Chanticleer, the flamboyant founder of the Harlem African-American Wax and History Museum, died March 31 of lung cancer. He was 72. In 1989, in his West 1.15th Street Harlem brownstone, Chanticleer opened the wax museum, where visitors could see about 25 lifelike figures of such famous black heroes as Malcolm and Magic Johnson.

He made all the figures, including one of himself. "Just in case something should happen to me, if they didn't carry out my wishes and my dreams of this wax museum I would come back and haunt the hell out of them," Chanticleer said in a radio interview last year. MARSHALL 78, of Columbus, formerly of Pandora, died April 7, 2002, Arlington Court Nursing Center. He was born July 31, 1923, in Bluffton to Herbert and Hazel Augsburger Marshall, who preceded him in death. His wife of 55 years, Rosemary Marshall, survives. Mr. Marshall was a partner at McDowell-Marshall Buick, Pandora.

In 1960, he joined The Ohio State University as fleet manager and later became the parking manager. After his retirement he worked as a motor vehicles sales representative and as a consultant various car dealerships in central Ohio. He attended Northwest Christian Church. He was a member of Alpha Zeta fraternity and American Legion Post 888. He received his bachelor's degree in rural economics from The Ohio State University and also graduated from the General Motors Technical Institute.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors also include two Kenneth E. (Anne) Marsons, shall of Bay Village and Michael (Ellen) Marshall of Dublin; two daughters, Kathleen Marshall and Barbara (William) Gardner, both of Columbus; two brothers, Ralph (Rosamund) Marshall of Toledo and Don (Grace) Marshall of Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Heather (John) Gergen, Matthew Jones, Adam Jones and Ayla Calis; and several nephews and nieces. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus.

The Rev. Paul Lantis will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 04 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born June 26, 1902, to James and Katherine Wood East, who preceded her in death. In 1923, in Lima, she married Lewis Cole, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Cole was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima.

She was a graduate of Lima Central High School. Survivors include a son, James H. (Reva) Cole of Battle Creek, and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lenora Shaw. Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m.

Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. The Rev. Dick Kuhn will officiate. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.

On April 30, 1977, she married Edward Mangas, who survives in Leipsic. She had worked at Philips ECG in Ottawa, Sunbeam Preschool in Leipsic and for the Findlay and Ottawa Headstart.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic, and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2793 Auxiliary, Leipsic. She was a 1976 graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School and a graduate of Lima Technical College. Survivors also include a son, Todd Mangas at home; two daughters, Andrea Mangas and Ashley Mangas, both at home; a brother, William (Mary Kay) Weis of Leipsic; and two sisters, Diana (Kenneth) Horstman and Donna (Dale) Utrup, both of Ottawa.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Leipsic. The Rev. John Joseph and deacon Tom Niese will officiate.

Arrangements are incomplete at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental. JOE L. COTNER, 87, died at 5:10 a.m. April 7, 2002, at Lima Convalescent Home. He was born May 18, 1914, in Ada to Joseph L.

and Clara Boyd Cotner, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 13, 1936, he married Marjorie A. Rhoads, who died Jan. 2, 1999.

Mr. Cotner retired June 1, 1979, 1 as an electrical engineer for American Cotner Electric Cotner Power. He was a member of Shawnee Church of Christ, where he had served as an elder. He was a registered professional engineer. He had been a scout master for the Boy Scouts and had been awarded the Silver Beaver Award.

He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ada and the Sertoma Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, David (Charlotte) Cotner of Memphis, and Laurence (Jacqueline) Cotner of Lawton, a sister, Edith Dietz of San Diego; four grandchildren, April Counts, Laurence Cotner II, Jay Cotner and Christopher Cotner; and three great grandchildren, Kaeleigh Counts, Jenna Counts and Jackson Cotner. He was preceded in death by four brothers, J. Leroy, J.

Arthur, Robert and Clair B. Cotner; and three sisters, Mary Motter, Leila Hooper and Goldie Swope-King. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles SonsLaman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev.

Kloeppel, who died Dec. 3, 1969. Mrs. Kloeppel was a homemaker and had 1 assisted her husband in farming. She was a member of St.

Peter Lutheran Church, Delphos, where she had been the oldest active member and was a member of its Good Hope Group. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Survivors include a son, Howard (Rita) Kloeppel of Bluffton; a daughter, Helen Brown- Deerhake of Wapakoneta; grandchildren, (John) Carpenter of Birmingham, David (Julie) Brown of Powell, Kevin (Wendy). HARRUFF, 93, died at 4:10 a.m. April 8, 2002 at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born March 24, 1909 in Spencerville to John and Rosa E. Book Counts. On May 19, 1928, 8 she married Charles, M.

Harruff, who died May 19, 1976. Mrs. Harruff was a laundry worker at the former ShookMosier Laundry and retired from Lima Memorial Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth F. Harruff of Lima and Emerson E.

(Beverly) Harruff of Lincoln, three daughters, Evelyn M. Thatcher and Kathryn L. Gay, both of Lima, and Ruth D. (Ed Sqyerly) Isham of Tulsa, a sister, Norma Mae DeLong of Lima; a daughter-in-law, Janet Harruff of St. Marys; 41 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son, Willis Harruff, a daughter, Edna M. Edens; a brother, Floyd Clifford Counts; two sisters, Cleo Seibert and Zelma Hunt; three grandchildren, one great grandchild and one great great grandchild. "Gene" MICHAEL A. "MIKE" EVERETT, 55, died at 6:30 p.m. April 7, 2002, at his residence. He was born March 5, 1947, in Lima to David E. and Jacquette DeVere "Jackie" Everett, who survive in Port Richey, Fla.

On Aug. 4, 1973, he married Joyce M. Young, who survives. Everett Everett was Everett an electrician at General Dynamics. He was a member of American Legion Post 96, Lima, the National Rifle Association, the Lima Sabers Shooting Association and the Classic Mercury Club.

He was a Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed deer hunting and was a Ford car man. Survivors also include a son, David E. Everett, who is serving in the Marine Corps at Twentynine Palms, a brother, James "Jim" (Lou Ann) Everett of Cridersville; and a sister, Judith Ann "Judy" Everett of Columbus. Services will begin at 1 p.m.
