My missing files are all being found by an autoruns program I got from www.Sysinternals.com. They are all codecl listed under ..

I would also like to know how a q drive suddenly appeared one day and my aA drive and cd drive keep going to the q drive and disabling themselves on the c drive? I can't get rid of thne q drive.

Addition to my above question.
When i right clicked on missing files i had choice to search the internet and that is how i found this site. I looked before but too confusing. Cou.ld the files be mssing because i removed the media player from windows programs that i dont use....because I use Real player because the media players always have problems.

Need a bit more info here.
What did you remove and how? What exact errors are you getting and when do them come up? If this started happening soon as you removed whatever you did, then I'm betting that's the cause of this.
What do you mean your CD Drive keeps going to the Q drive? If you open the Q drive in windows explorer what do you see there? And please don't just say " I see some files", list the folder names. Don't need to list all of them, but a few would help for sure.

right now it says access is denied. I can only open it when my cd drive and a drive are there. I go to q drive when my cd drive is disabled on the c drive. I disable it on the q and enable again on c.

sometimes it ends up disabled on both and comes back when i reboot
