Using the docking controls. The faintly purple button around the bottom left corner of the screen (just below the green staging button, and above the blue map button) sets your ships into docking mode.
Your two vessels have to be docked to transfer fuel between them. The only way around this is by using a dedicated fuel vessel to dock to one ship and move the fuel to the other. The klaw can transfer fuel only if you have fuel crossfeed rules disabled in the difficulty settings.
We need to get the docking ports at least approximately lined up (facing towards each other). If possible, the easiest way to do this is to switch briefly to the target ship (using the [ ] keys) and rotate it so that it points its docking port towards your ship, then switch back and rotate your ship appropriately.
Turn on RCS with the R key. If you would like to use the docking mode (middle icon in the bottom left corner), then use the spacebar to toggle between linear and rotation modes. In linear (LIN) mode, WASD keys move you forward/back/left/right and left shift and control are up/down.
